THE MATURING SCHIPPERKE

The pictures below are of the same dog, Ch. Shalako's Simply Simon,C.D., R.O.M., H.O.F.,  taken at different ages.
Notice as the dog matures, his appearance becomes more "thickset".
Picture
Our line is slow to mature.
It is our experience if a puppy is very mature at a young age, he will become "overdone" as an adult.  We look for a puppy with the correct "outline", knowing he will grow into it as an adult, and stay sound into old age.
Not all lines develop the same.  Check with your breeder.
Simon is a multiple Best in Show and Speciality Award of Merit winner, and also a High in Trial winner at the Arizona Schipperke Speciality.
The sire of 18 champions, including a Best in Show son and a Best in Show grandson that is also a National Specialty winner, we think he was worth the wait!
